Kwati is a mixture of nine different types of beans such as red kidney beans, soybeans, mung beans, black lentils, blacked eyed peas, chickpeas, cowpeas and green peas that is used to prepare a soup. This soup is mainly consumed during the festival of ‘Gun Punhi’ in Newari or ‘Janai Purnima”
